WEEK 3 - APRIL 9 - How to create a GOOGLE SLIDE PRESENTATION

Introducing GOOGLE SLIDES — WMS ART LABGOOGLE SLIDE PRESENTATION icon

Bonjour mes amis! Let's think about Social Studies.

RESEARCH PROJECT

I hope the paper version of your research project is completed by now.  (It was due by March 25.)  So now that you have learned about a different country, the next step is to create a Google Slide presentation in order to share your research with me and the class.  Here is h
ow, please read carefully!

1) Login to the student portal by logging into your student emailfirstname.lastname@ocsbstudent.ca
wrap
2) Click on the Google apps square

          on the top right corner.
(It is quite small and looks like 9 dots in the shape of a square. >)

Clicking it will give you a drop-down menu of icons with choices: Gmail, Drive, Photos, Search, and many others including a yellow icon button with a white squareGoogle SLIDES

Click on it to open.

3) (a) Click on the plus + sign, it is the first rectangle, giving you a blank template.
(bNow share it with me by pushing the "SHARE" button on the right side and entering my email: (then I can see it) chris.blahout@ocsb.ca

4) On the first slide, type in the name of the
COUNTRY and YOUR NAMEYou can also add a picture of the flag or something else if you want.
Here is an example:       CANADA
Flag of Canada - Wikipedia

                                      by Chris Blahout

5) Click on the box at the top, on the left side, that says: "UNTITLED PRESENTATION" & type the country name or whatever title you like.

6)Now add your next slide (page) by clicking the plus sign (+ v) on the upper left corner (just below the word "File" & yellow icon)

7) To add a PHOTO onto the slide:

  •  Click on the word "Insert" on the top left side.
  • In the drop-down menu, click "Image".
  • Then click "Search the web". Now on the right side, you will see a sidebar search box where you type in the word(s) for the image you want, like "flag of __?__", and enter.
  • Some choices will pop up and you select the image you like by clicking on it. (It will have a checkmark on it.)
  • Then click the "INSERT" button on the bottom.
  •  The image will look very big on the page! You can shrink it by hovering over any corner and when the white arrow appears, just click, hold & drag the image towards the opposite corner. This will make it smaller.
  • Click & hold the middle of the image to move it around the page to place it where you want it.
7) Add slides by repeating Step 5. Add one slide for each topic of your presentation. Each slide should have a topic title: LE CLIMATLES VETEMENTSLA NOURRITURELOGEMENTLES ANIMAUX, SOURCES

8) Include an image of the country on a world map so we know where it is located.

Here is a link to a Youtube video that might help you do different things
in your presentation. Some of the instructions are a little different than my
directions or they may be too complicated to do.  Click the link below:

WEEK 3 - APRIL 6 to 9 ~ BIENVENUE ~ C'est français! ~

Bonjour mes amis!
I hope everyone is healthy and happy. I miss you very much!

*The highlighted words in a bluish colour should have links to YouTube embedded, so double click on those words. After watching the video, click the "back" button to go back to this blog site and continue to the next linked video.

Our FRENCH goals for April:

SPRING ~ “Le printemps

1. Vocabulaire (words to know)  chanson link

2. Writing Task: Please create 5-6 complete sentences using as many sentence-starters as possible as well as following proper structure (upper or lowercase letters, punctuation, and spacing). A good start would be with: “Je vois” (I see) and make sure you ask at least one question using the form of reversing the verb and adding "tu", such as: “Vois-tu?” (Do you see?). Please incorporate Spring words into your work.
Examples:
- Je vois trois tulipes. Vois-tu les tulipes?
- J’aime les fleurs rouges! Aimes-tu rouge?
- Je veux sauter  dans la flaque d’eau. Veux-tu jouer avec moi?

3.Oral Activity: watch video links and REPEAT words & phrases for 5 mins. Review, at least, one set of routine words daily, such as: the greeting phrases, question words, body parts, days of the week or weather phrases
Occasionally, you should also practice the French alphabet:
